This could the best white bread recipe you'll ever make. It has flavor, texture and lasting quality. It freezes well, toasts beautifully, makes great sandwiches and if you like French Toast, you'll never make it with another bread after you taste this one. This is an original recipe, developed after many trials.

Makes 1 loaf for 16 slices

  • 1 cup less 1 tablespoon no sodium or distilled water (trace)
  • 3 cups white best for bread machine flour (7.5 mg)
  • 1 large egg (54.1 mg)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (.15 mg)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (.094 mg)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (trace)
  • 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar or Splenda substitute (.126 mg)
  • 1 level tablespoon vital wheat gluten (2.25 mg)
  • 1 tablespoon Ever Fresh or Fruit Fresh (trace)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (1.296 mg)
  • 2 teaspoons (one package) bread machine yeast (3.5 mg)
  • Place ingredients into bread machine pan in order listed.

    Set for white bread, 2 pound loaf, medium crust.

    Cool on rack. May store loaf or parts of loaf in zipper lock bag in freezer up to a month.
